Mike Greaney, a comics artist from Australia, has a talent for coming up with the most unexpected story endings. And he puts his knowledge to good use in his work, regularly publishing humorous comic panels on social media.

“I get inspiration from all kinds of things,” Mike explains. “I usually try to think of something fascinating to draw for shorter cartoons, such as a werewolf morphing, a bog witch, or ghosts, and then come up with a punchline to justify the imagery.” “Most of my longer-form comics start with a question, like “what if you could spawn an infinite number of ducks?” or “what if a Twitter spam robot became sentient?” and then the characters and plot develop from there.”

“I’m an animator by trade, and while I love animation, it takes absolutely aeons and/or tonnes of money to make,” the artist revealed when asked how the idea for making comics came about. I came up with the idea of turning ideas for animated stories and jokes into comics as a method to satisfy my desire to produce and share work without having to spend a long time putting it together.”

Mike thinks it’s incredible that his art has reached so many people: “I’m really grateful that anyone wants to read these silly comics, and I have so much fun making them and putting them out there and watching what people respond to.” “Posting material is usually a pleasant time for me because my followers often make funnier jokes in the comments than in the comic.”
