They say we plan, but God laughs at us. It’s probable that in certain circumstances, this is correct. We believe you’ve encountered situations where things didn’t go as planned or expected. Ryan Rds is a 2D animator and webcomic artist that creates scenarios like these and others. In his comics, life looks to be playing tricks on us. These humorous illustrations have unexpected results. However, we believe you will be able to relate to at least some, if not all, of the situations portrayed in these comics. Whatever you do in life, whether you’re an athlete or work for a major organisation, there will be something for you. What is the most vivid memory you have of a failed plan?

Tumblr was where Ryan started his career as a comics author, but he no longer utilises it. You can check his work on Instagram, where he has over 1,500 followers.

“They have similar components, but it’s always just so great to bring a drawing to life,” the artist said of comics and animation to Bored Panda. Ryan, on the other hand, thinks that comic books are significantly more practical and that animation takes a long time to produce.

Ryan mentioned that he gets ideas for his comics on the spur of the moment. Sometimes they’re inspired by true events in his life, and other times they’re based on exaggerated real-world scenarios. Some of his illustrations are inspired by amusing thoughts. “I’m constantly adding to my notes app’s ‘comic ideas’ note.”

When we asked Ryan which part of the creative process he liked the best, he said he enjoys drawing and brainstorming ideas. “Everything is so fluid, expressive, and malleable at first.”
“As a webcomic artist, my main goal is to make people laugh, and whatever chuckle I can get is a win.” Thanks to the internet, my silly sketches may reach far more people than a classmate’s desk neighbour, which constantly surprises me.”

Ryan “learned” webcomic art from a “sort of ‘How to Draw Comics’ book at the library when he was about 8 or 9 years old,” but he has always enjoyed sketching! “I started drawing superhero comics while I was in elementary school and haven’t stopped since.”
When we asked Ryan to tell us more about himself, he disclosed that rap music is his favourite genre. “It’s on for at least 75% of the time.” I, too, am not a fan of the more introspective rap songs over the more silly rap songs; I enjoy all aspects of the hip-hop spectrum.”
